Woodlands Professional Firefighters endorse Dawson for Precinct 2 County Commissioner

Brian Dawson, local businessman and Republican activist, is running for Precinct 2 Montgomery County Commissioner in the March 6, 2018, Republican Primary Election.

The Woodlands, February 1 – The Woodlands Professional Firefighters Association, Local 3846-IAFF, has announced they are endorsing Brian Dawson for Precinct 2 Montgomery County Commissioner in the March 6, 2018, Republican Primary Election. Poor Charlie Riley, the incumbent County Commissioner who is also running, felt additional disrespect yesterday when he didn’t receive endorsements from the Texas Patriots Tea Party PAC or from the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Association.  Another candidate in the race, Gregory Parker, received both of those endorsements yesterday.

“I can think of no greater honor than to be supported by men and women willing to risk their lives to save the lives of their fellow citizens,” Dawson said in response to his learning of the Firefighters Association endorsement. “Firefighter and first responder safety, along with that of the public, has been a focal point of my campaign, as I have researched and spent countless hours visiting with citizens about the future safety of FM1488.”

Dawson earned a BBA in Marketing from Stephen F. Austin University and is on the Board of the Stephen F. Austin Alumni Association. He is a member of the Montgomery County Fair Association and is also a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo CWW Go Texan Committee. Recognized by many party activists in Montgomery County as a GOP leader for a number of years, he is also a member of the Texas Young Republicans, the Montgomery County Young Republicans and is also a Past President of MCYR.

Dawson continued about the race, “I’m looking forward to working with Commissioners like James Noack to implement zero-based budgeting, an expanded pay-as-you-go budget system and maximizing our partnerships that work with the county. And, we can do all of this while cleaning up our ethics issues in the county.”

The Woodlands Professional Fire Fighters Association (WPFFA) represents suppression and dispatch personnel of The Woodlands Fire Department.
