The Golden Hammer Staff Reports

Laredo, March 1 – Conservative Republican Sandra Whitten, who ran the strongest Republican campaign for Congress in the history of Texas Congressional District 28, announced her candidacy for the seat, which liberal incumbent Democrat Henry Cuellar presently holds. Cuellar has served in Congress since 2005.

Whitten introduced her campaign staff for the 2022 election during the energetic 27-minute video, which included Chesley Lordgotham as Director for the southern part of District 28, Walter West, II, as Chief of Staff, Kylie Marie Ramos as Treasurer, Ashley Burke as Volunteer Coordinator and Consultant, and Kelly Doane as Director for the northern part of District 28. Each of the staff members participated in the video.

Burke has become a major consulting force in Texas for numerous candidates in Harris County and in the Rio Grande Valley. She was instrumental in the election of Republican Lacey Hull to the House District 138 seat in the Spring Branch area, which Republican Duane Bohac previously represented. Burke was unable to appear by video during Whitten’s presentation as a result of some management issues Burke had with her police escort.

In 2020, Whitten received 91,925 votes, or 39.0% of the vote in the 28th Congressional District where Democrats have exerted a strong hegemony. The Golden Hammer has confirmed that Cuellar will likely not run for re-election, because President Joe Biden intends to nominate Cuellar as Ambassador to Mexico.

Although Whitten announced her candidacy for the 2022 Congressional election for this District, which is the second largest in geographic area in Texas, a source inside her campaign has confirmed Whitten intends to run in a special election after Biden nominates Cuellar for the ambassadorship.

Whitten noted during her announcement speech, “Biden has undone things in the first forty days of his administration that have undone the hard work conservatives have done during the past four years.” She specifically discussed Biden’s policies which have harmed women’s sports, an important issue because Whitten has served as a Little League Coach.

We’re talking about flipping the second largest Congressional District in the State of Texas [District 28] red.
