Tragic Sunday morning accident results in motorcylist’s death in accident with Sheriff’s Office vehicle on Highway 105

Conroe, July 29 – A tragic motorcycle accident resulted in the motorcyclist’s death when he collided into a Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle on Highway 105 in Montgomery.
On Sunday, July 29, 2018, at about 3:15 a.m., a Deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was exiting the Lake Conroe Plaza Drive shopping center in Montgomery Texas in route to assist another deputy on a traffic stop.
Upon exiting the parking lot, the Deputy began turning eastbound bound onto Highway 105. As the Deputy exited the parking lot, a motorcycle that was traveling westbound on Highway 105 struck the driver side of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office vehicle. Deputies rendered medical aid to the driver of the motorcycle. The driver was pronounced deceased.
The factors surrounding the accident are being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
The identity of the driver of the motorcycle has not been released pending notification of the next of kin. The Deputy a one year veteran of law-enforcement was not injured in the accident.
Lieutenant Scott Spencer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said, “This is a tragic crash and our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the motorcycle driver as well as with our Deputy.”
