New Caney, May 22 – A Precinct 4 Deputy’s traffic stop in the area of FM 1485 and Highway 59 in New Caney, around 3 p.m. on May 21, 2017, resulted in two 3rd Degree Felony charges for Forgery. The Precinct 4 Constable’s Deputy noticed an anomaly on the two Texas Identification cards the ladies in the vehicle provided to him. A digit on each of the cards was altered.

Once the deputy positively identified both subjects in the vehicle, his investigation led to the finding of many receipts from local big box stores. Apparently the two subjects were using the altered identification cards to aid them in fraudulent returns at big box stores. Both Courtney Rosas, 25 years of age and Sharon Hickson, 50 years of age, both from New Caney, TX have been arrested.

Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden stated that fraudulent returns are a big issue plaguing local retailers. Hopefully these arrests will curtail some of that and send a message to others that are involved in this illegal activity.
