The Golden Hammer Award goes to Commissioner Noack for betraying citizens

Image: Precinct 3 Montgomery County Commissioner James Noack may very well have received the most appropriate version of “The Golden Hammer Award” in history, as he hammered the taxpayers about as hard as he possibly could.

The Golden Hammer Staff Reports

Conroe and The Woodlands, July 30 – Precinct 3 Montgomery County Commissioner James Noack received “The Golden Hammer Award” for “hammering the taxpayers” on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the Montgomery County Commissioners Court. Ginger Russell, a Special Assignment Contributing Editor of The Golden Hammer, presented the award to Noack, who showed no magnanimity whatsoever and, at first, refused even to accept the award.

Russell made the following remarks along with the presentation of “The Golden Hammer” to Noack:

“Today’s Golden Hammer Award for ‘hammering the taxpayers’ goes to Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack.

“Fiscal Year 2022 will become known as the budget that revealed the ‘Emperor’s New Clothes.’

“In this case, the ‘Emperor’ is how insignificant County government expenditures for services really are.

“For many years, you have argued against lower taxes and lesser spending by claiming you needed the money to maintain the level of services.

“But with one soft question, County Judge Mark Keough stripped that myth, when he asked Commissioner Charlie Riley what County government services he would trade for the money from his Commissioners Precinct Budget he would contribute in order to pay for the massive salaries increase.

“Riley admitted he was taking funds directly from ‘equipment, road materials, and road repairs.’

“Noack, who led the effort to take $7 million of County government services away and give a massive pay raise to the one group of Montgomery County citizens who didn’t suffer any interruption in their paychecks or in their income during the China Virus panic, apparently doesn’t care that that $7 million will come directly away from services to the taxpayers.

“This Budget is the most heartless and selfish you have ever passed.

“Shame on you.

“The Editorial Board of The Golden Hammer, Montgomery County’s leading daily newspaper, agrees with Judge Keough’s comment that ‘Our greatest asset is our citizens and they’ve taken it on the chin…Unemployment here is higher than the rest of the country.’

“You have hammered us, Commissioner Noack.

“Citizens in all four Precincts across Montgomery County should remember that, at the time of our greatest need, you led a forceful effort to take money and County services away from us to fill your own pocket.”
