Simon Arrested for Marijuana Possession, Possible Shipping

February 13, Conroe – The Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Task Force (MOCONET) arrested John Philip Simon for possession of illicit narcotics and booked him into the Montgomery County Jail on February 8, 2017. MOCONET seized $36,000 in United States Currency as well as various narcotics and continues to investigate the case.

On February 6, 2017, detectives and agents with the MOCONET received information in reference to a large amount of United States Currency being shipped through the United States Post Office. During the course of the investigation, they determined the currency was being sent to Colorado to purchase an unknown amount of marijuana as well as marijuana infused edibles and oils to be sold in the Montgomery County area. As a result of the investigation, law enforcement interdicted a parcel that was found to contain the Currency which they seized pending further investigation.

On February 8, 2017, the investigation led to a search warrant executed in the 800 block of Glen Hollow Dr., in Conroe, Texas. As a result of the search warrant, an additional $6,600.00 in U.S. Currency was seized, 1.9 pounds of hydroponic marijuana, 2 grams of marijuana wax/shatter, over 200 grams of THC infused edibles, and two firearms.  Simon was in possession of these illicit narcotics.

MOCONET is a cooperative multi-agency task force which consists of law enforcement agencies from Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Offices, Texas Department of Public Safety-CID, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Walker County District Attorney’s Office, Customs and Border Protection-Houston Air and Marine Operations, and Homeland Security Investigations.
