Conroe, February 26 – Conroe Police Department has arrested Devin Najel Harris, a 29 year old Conroe resident, and charged him with the 1st Degree Murder of Jonathan Gonzalez, a co-employee of Harris at Piney Shores Resort.
On Sunday, February 26, 2017, at 11:47 am, Conroe Officers were dispatched to a shooting at the resort located at 8350 Piney Shores Drive in Conroe. Witnesses reported an employee shot another employee and was at large on the property. Officers detained the suspect, identified as Harris. Officers had discovered 22 year old Willis resident, Jonathan Gonzalez, with numerous gunshot wounds. Gonzalez had succumbed to his wounds prior to officer and first responder’s arrival. Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded and ordered an inquest.
Harris and Gonzalez were subcontracted janitorial employees at Piney Shores Resort. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
The Conroe Police Department charged Harris with murder and booked him into
the Montgomery County Jail. Murder is a 1st degree felony that carries a confinement term of life or 5-99 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
