Conroe, September 17 – In a confrontation which revealed the Riley family’s obsession with criticism by conservative Republican leader Ginger Russell, Precinct 2 Montgomery County Commissioner’s daughter, Alicia Riley Curry, disrupted a quiet lunch meeting among three conservatives – Russell, Doris Fike, and Cheila McKay – at the Citizens Grill in Conroe on F.M. 1488 on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Curry met her mother, Deanne Riley, Riley’s wife, for lunch at the restaurant, which seemed odd in an of itself, as explained below.
Russell explained what happened, “I went to lunch on Tuesday to meet with two friends at Citizens Grill, who are also Montgomery County Republican precinct chairs. They have not been politically active in Montgomery County for as long as I have and were unaware of some of the history of my school board race and other races in the county.”
Russell continued, “Upon informing them of some of the names and races involved, I was caught off guard when a lady approached the table mouthing something which I did not hear. I asked ‘Do I know you?’ She replied ‘I am his daughter and you are obsessed…’ I then realized it was my local commissioner Charlie Riley’s adult daughter, Alicia Curry Riley, standing over my table yelling at me at a restaurant when I was trying to eat with friends. She continued mouthing something as she walked away to join her mother, Deanne, for lunch.”
Russell, Fike, and McKay observed that Deanne Riley, a highly-paid County employee who supposedly works as a receptionist for the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office in Magnolia in a job which her husband, the County Commissioner, created for her. Deanne Riley was at the restaurant for over two hours in the middle of the County government work day. The restaurant is a 23 minute drive from Deanne Riley’s supposed place of employment, so she missed almost three hours of work to have lunch with her daughter and harass other individuals trying to eat lunch.
Deanne Riley receives a $60,875.00 per year salary, plus County government benefits approximating $24,532.63, for total compensation of $85,407.63. This newspaper has confirmed from three employees in the Constable’s Office that Deanne Riley rarely shows up for work more than a few hours per week.
Russell noted, “The audacity of these people is mind blowing. To think that they think it’s acceptable to confront taxpayers and citizens, who do not align and agree with their good old boy network in a public restaurant at their table while eating lunch in public, is beyond comprehension. It is unconscionable that elected officials or their family would confront and harass constituents in public places, as Alicia Riley Curry did today. It reminds me of the liberal wacko Maxine Waters from California who called on liberals to do just exactly that to Trump Supporters. It is like she is stalking me. Maxine Waters said, ‘If you see anybody from that cabinet [in the Trump adminstration] in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.’”
Conservative activist Scott Shaver commented, “Ms. Curry must hear a lot of public criticism of the old man and is either mentally overloaded with it all or hair triggered in public. Either way…not good.
Russell told this newspaper, “I’ve always got concerns about Commissioner Riley. I think he’s devious. I’m frustrated with the nepotism in his office, since he hired his wife, his nephew, and close friends. He abuses his office.”
