New Caney, April 20 – During a proactive patrol operation, Precinct 4 Constable deputies espied two males coming from what looked to be an abandoned residence on Sullivan Rd in New Caney, TX. They identified the males as Howard Ferguson III, 33 and Don Hennif Jr., 39 both from New Caney. An investigation found that the two males entered the property by cutting a lock on the entrance gate then proceed to cutting water lines attached to a water heater inside the garage, then draining the water heater. The investigation also showed Ferguson to be in possession of methamphetamine. Deputies were able to attain a confession from both subjects. They advised it was their intention to cut and remove the water heater and other items from inside the residence, then scrap at a later time.
Both perps were arrested for Felony Burglary of a Habitation and Ferguson for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden, the rock star who serves as the elected Constable of Montgomery County’s Precinct 4, said, “Property crimes and drug use and abuse go hand in hand. I’m proud of my deputies for being proactive and spotting this crime in progress.”
