New Caney, March 3 – The Golden Hammer proudly publishes Precinct 4 Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden’s “Arrest Blotter.” Constable Hayden is a first-class law enforcement officer and truly a rising star among peace officers in the United States. His “Arrest Blotter” comes from Sergeant Jim Slack, Precinct 4 Patrol Supervisor and Public Information Officer. We encourage our readers to review the “Arrest” Blotter carefully, as it has enabled The Golden Hammer to provide critical information to Constable Hayden and his team to make additional arrests and keep our community safe.
The recent “Arrest Blotter” follows:
2/14/17 around 11:15pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Porter on a vehicle displaying temporary tags that appeared to be altered. The driver exited the vehicle and was non-compliant to get back in so an additional unit was requested. While attempting to detain the driver he took off running, jumping two fences and then disappearing into the woods. The male was spotted by the back-up Constable and a lengthy foot pursuit ensued with the male climbing a fence and attempting to get on the roof of a residence, ignoring commands to get down on the ground, causing the deputy to deploy his taser and detaining the male. Medics transported the male to Kingwood ER to remove the taser probes, then released by medical personnel back to Pct. 4. Using a portable fingerprint scanner, the driver was identified as Milla, Kelvin 10/21/1995 and was taken into custody for evading arrest a class A misdemeanor charge.
2/15/17 around 11:30pm PCT 4 conducted at traffic stop in Porter. The female driver of the vehicle identified herself, but after checking two sources the name provided did not show up. The females’ demeanor raised suspicion and she consented to a vehicle search. A wallet was discovered inside a brown bag and inside the wallet several baggies with a crystal like substance residue in them, as well as a rolled up one dollar bill with a crystal like substance residue. The substances field tested positive for methamphetamine. A Texas DL was found with the name of Hopkins, Angela 7/24/1973 from Spring, TX. Concerned that she had a warrant, the female admitted to lying about her identity. Hopkins was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance and arrested for a felony 3 charge of possession of controlled substance.
2/16/17 around 4:45am PCT 4 responded to a tip in Porter. The MCSO dispatch received a call advising of the location of a male with a parole warrant. Deputies went to the location and awoke a male sleeping on the sofa who identified himself by his Texas DL as Brown, David 5/31/1967 from Porter. Brown was taken into custody for a felony blue warrant.
2/16/17 around 12:00pm PCT 4 assisted bail bondsmen in New Caney. A male identified as Sellers, William 2/25/1965 from Coldspring, TX was taken into custody for felony warrants out of Polk and Hardin County.
2/16/17 around 5:00pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop near Kingwood. The driver, identified as Tunnell, David 5/11/1987 from Conroe, was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Montgomery County.
2/16/17 around 11:30pm PCT 4 stopped white pick-up for displaying a paper license tag that was fictitious. After confirming the tag was not registered to a vehicle, contact was made with the driver who identified himself as Bible, Carl 7/29/1982 from Huffman. The pick-up had a broken driver door handle and markings indicating U-Haul emblems had been removed. The VIN# was ran and the pick-up was registered in Arizona and confirmed to be stolen. Bible was arrested for a state felony charge for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
2/17/17 around 11:15am PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop on Morgan Cemetery Road. The driver was identified as Perry, Richard 10/14/1979 from Grangerland, TX. Perry had a knife in his hand, which he released after advice from the deputy and a large empty knife sheath underneath his shirt, as well as a bulge in his pant pocket. A baggie with a green leafy substance was retrieved from the pants pocket at which point Perry stated he did not know what was in his pocket, as he put them on dirty. Perry advised there might be a purple marijuana pipe in the vehicle but nothing else, Perry was allegedly in possession of marijuana. While searching the vehicle, a syringe with a clear substance inside of it and a metal spoon with a crystal like residue on it were recovered from underneath the driver seat and field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. Perry was placed into custody for a state felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
2/17/17 around 11:30am PCT 4 made contact with pedestrians on Morgan Cemetery Road. A male and female were walking on the wrong side of the road. The male was identified by his Texas DL as Gentry, Kerry 1/25/1996 from Cleveland. Upon consenting to a search, Gentry advised that he had a scale in his back pocket as well as a bag of marijuana in his pocket. Allegedly in possession of marijuana, Gentry was taken into custody and transported to PCT 4 by an assisting deputy. Upon arrival to PCT 4, Gentry’s coat was almost down to his waist and he was sweating profusely. A bag of marijuana was observed sticking out from under the passenger side seat and Gentry denied placing it there. Later, Gentry stated that he had placed the bag, with a larger quantity of marijuana, down his pants when he noticed the marked car on Morgan Cemetery. Upon realization that he was going to jail, Gentry pulled the bag of marijuana from the front of his pants and kicked it underneath the seat. In addition to a class B misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana, Gentry received a felony 3 charge for tampering/fabricate physical evidence.
2/17/17 around 1:15pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Cleveland. The vehicle was driving 47mph in a 30 mph zone with a temporary license plate. The driver was identified by his expired Texas DL as McLamb, Joseph 5/11/1982 from Cleveland and stated his license was invalid and he could not renew it as well as not having the vehicle insured. McLamb was placed into custody for a class B misdemeanor charge for driving while license invalid
2/17/17 around 3:00pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in New Caney. The vehicle had an expired registration and unconfirmed auto insurance. The driver, identified as Jankowski, Stephen 3/26/1994 from Splendora, TX. Jankowski stated that his Texas DL was suspended and the insurance had lapsed. Jankowski was allegedly in possession of drugs and stated there was marijuana in the vehicle. The driver was placed into custody for a class B misdemeanor for possession of marijuana.
2/17/17 around 10:15pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Splendora for expired registration. The driver was identified by her Texas DL as McDonald, Cheryl 4/30/1964 from Cleveland. McDonald had five active warrants for issuance of bad checks in Montgomery County. McDonald was placed into custody on five class C misdemeanor charges.
2/18/17 around 10:00am PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Cleveland. The vehicle did not display a front license plate. The driver was identified by his Texas ID as Jenkel, Coleman 1/15/1997 from Cleveland. Jenkel was allegedly in possession of marijuana as the odor of burnt marijuana emitted from the vehicle. A glass pipe used for smoking marijuana was observed in the driver side door and Jenkel advised that a bag of marijuana was in the glove box. Jenkel was taken into custody for a class B misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.
2/18/17 around 9:30pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Splendora for a defective headlight. Occupants of the vehicle were identified and a warrant showed active for Osburn, Hollie 2/2/1993 who was arrested for a misdemeanor charge.
2/19/17 around 3:00am PCT 4 assisted in an attempt to locate a vehicle swerving from lane to lane near Fostoria Road. Pct. 4 located the vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated, identifying the driver by his Mexico ID as Antunez-Bentez, Gilberto 8/22/1993 from Cleveland. Antunez admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving and was placed into custody after blowing into the PBT and registering .137. Antunez-Bentez was taken into custody for a class A misdemeanor charge of DWI. Antunez-Bentez has a prior DWI conviction.
2/19/17 around 12:45pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Cleveland. The vehicle passed the PCT 4 deputy and it was observed that the driver was not wearing his seat belt. The driver, identified with his Texas DL as Dressen, Steven 11/27/1988 from Porter was extremely nervous, stating he had no auto insurance. Dressen stated there were two pistols in the front of the truck cab. While waiting on MCSO to confirm ownership of the pistols a clear crystal substance was recovered from the male’s wallet as well as a red handkerchief wrapping a glass smoking pipe with residue similar to methamphetamine. Dressen was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance as well as a stolen pistol, both of which he denied having any knowledge of. The male was arrested for a state felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
2/19/17 around 9:30pm PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Conroe. The passenger, Nash, Hunter 10/19/1995 had an active warrant through Montgomery County as was taken into custody for a state felony charge of fraud/swindling.
2/20/17 around 2:00am PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop near Fostoria. The driver was identified by his Mexico ID as Cuevas Moreno, Juan 7/30/1993 from Cleveland. Cuevas Moreno showed signs of intoxication and advised he could not speak English. An officer from the Splendora PD was called to the scene and translated all instructions. Cuevas Moreno admitted to drinking 5-7 alcoholic beverages prior to driving and was asked to perform SFST’s, revealing multiple clues of intoxication, then blew a .150 into the PBT. Cuevas Moreno was arrested for a class B misdemeanor charge of DWI.
2/21/17 around 9:45am PCT conducted a traffic stop for expired registration in Conroe. The male driver was identified by his Texas DL as Segrest, Jack from Crosby and showed to have two active warrants. Segrest was allegedly in possession of marijuana as the odor came from inside the vehicle. While performing a tow inventory, a black safe containing a pistol and green leafy substance on the floorboard were recovered from under the driver seat. Segrest stated there was no more marijuana in the vehicle, yet after checking the contents of a backpack in the bed of the truck, two bags of a green leafy substance were found. Segrest then stated it was half a pound and it was for his own personal use. Segrest was placed into custody for a state felony charge of possession of marijuana and the pistol was placed into evidence and entered as recovered.
2/22/17 around 8:00am PCT 4 conducted a traffic stop in Cleveland. The vehicle was speeding and the registration came back with an unconfirmed insurance status. The driver, identified by his Texas ID was Martinez, Billy 2/14/1980 from Cleveland. Martinez showed to have a suspended Texas DL and two prior convictions for driving while license invalid. Martinez resided on the next street and was given a citation for no DL advised he would not be taken into custody due to his children being in the car. Around 11:15am Martinez was observed driving the same vehicle approximately 11 miles from his home and a traffic stop was initiated with the deputy placing Martinez into custody for a class B misdemeanor charge of DWLI.
2/23/17 around 3:00pm PCT 4 responded to a warrant call from Adult Probation in New Caney. Dreahn, Tammy 11/17/1969 was placed into custody for a misdemeanor warrant for revoking community supervision.
2/24/17 around 12:00pm PCT 4 responded to an anonymous tip on a wanted person in Porter. Martin, Samuel 10/1/1992 from New Caney was located in a room at the Palace Inn and detained. Martin was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance as a glass pipe, two baggies with a crystal like substance inside of them and a baggie of green leafy substance were observed on the nightstand. Martin was placed into custody for a state jail felony warrant and a felony 3 charge of possession of a controlled substance.
