Porter, February 11 – Sheriff Rand Henderson’s Department is investigating the murder of Pete Figueroa, Jr., a 49-year-old Hispanic male from Harris County, Texas (a suburb of Montgomery County). On February 7, 2017, at 12:21 am, Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office along with Deputies from Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office were dispatched to a suspicious person and vehicle at Captain D’s Restaurant located at 23811 Interstate Highway 69 North, Porter, TX 77365.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Communications received a 911 call from a reportee that advised he had observed a vehicle driving without a front tire, north on Interstate Highway 69 Frontage Road near North Park Drive, pull into the back parking lot of the Captain D’s Restaurant. Wanting to offer help, the reportee advised that he stopped to check on the driver and offer his assistance. The male driver of the vehicle asked the reportee to drop him off at intersection of FM 1314 and Timberland Drive. The reportee gave the male driver a ride, but stated the male driver was acting strange during the trip. Out of concern, the reportee decided call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to make a report.
Upon arrival at the Captain D’s Restaurant, responding Deputies located a deceased male in the front passenger seat of the vehicle in question. At that time, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers were called to the scene.
During the course of the investigation, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers developed a suspect identified as Bryan Rafael Rodriguez-Valtierra, an 18 year old Hispanic male. On February 10, 2017, investigators secured a murder warrant for the arrest of Rodriguez-Valtierra and, at 7:45 pm, Rodriguez-Valtierra was arrested at 2801 N. Main St. in Liberty Texas with the assistance of the Texas Rangers, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T, and the Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force. Rodriguez-Valtierra was transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail Division where he was booked for murder.
Sheriff Henderson has thanked everyone involved for bringing a dangerous suspect into custody swiftly and without further jeopardy to the public.
