The Golden Hammer Staff Reports
Conroe, May 1 – The Montgomery County Young Republicans issued a statement on Thursday, April 30, in which they administered the quote “Kobayashi Maru” test to Texas Governor Greg Abbott with respect to his plans for re-opening Texas after the government shut downs related to the Chinese coronavirus. Under this test, which is a no win scenario, the test giver expects the exam taker to fail. the test arises from a scenario in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
Young Republicans Chairman explained to this newspaper, “we are asking for clarification. We are hoping that his answer is option number 3.” The complete Young Republican statement follows:
“It appears Governor Abbott now faces his Kobayashi Maru test thanks to Montgomery County and is left with four options:
“Option 1: He issues an order that matches what he has said and gets sued for picking what “non-essential services” get to open based on the strength of their lobby.
“Option 2: He issues an order delaying opening for the “non-essential services” that he deems REALLY non-essential and gets sued for the same reason as Option 1.
“Option 3: He does nothing, and Montgomery County and others across the great State of Texas tell him to pound sand.
“Option 4: He opens everything up tomorrow and looks weak for capitulating to little old Montgomery County.
“How do you choose to lead Governor?”
To date, Governor Abbott has done nothing with respect to clarification to his order GA-18 which takes effect on Friday, May 1.
Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough issued two video statement on Tuesday, April 28, in which he was sharply critical in the slow manner in which the Governor seemingly plans to re-open the Texas economy and to pick and choose winners and loser.
