Conroe, May 3 – The Montgomery County Eagle Forum has invited the entire community of Montgomery County to attend a National Day of Prayer event today, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Conroe First Assembly, 3993 Interstate 45 North, Conroe, Texas 77304.
Pastor Mark Collins will return as guest presenter playing the role of George Washington. Collins performed in the 13-part television mini-series The Revolution in 2006. Collins is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Yorktown.
The Hulin family will return to provide the music, while several community leaders will lead prayers for this community and for the Nation.
Congress established the National Day of Prayer in 1952 “to turn to God in prayer and meditation” as an annual national day of remembrance to occur on the first Thursday in May each year. President Dwight Eisenhower signed the National Day of Prayer into law. The United States had followed earlier versions of the National Day of Prayer all the way back to the time of the Second Continental Congress during the American Revolutionary War.
