Conroe, February 3 – The United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, awarded Sheriff Rand Henderson’s Sheriff’s Department a $42,477 grant to purchase Automated External Defibrillators also known as “AEDs.” The Montgomery County Hospital District has deployed AEDs throughout Montgomery County that are similar to the ones Henderson seeks to purchase. Each patrol district of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will receive five AED units. They will deploy four of the five AED units in patrol vehicles evenly around Montgomery County and the remaining until will remain in each district patrol office.
Sheriff Henderson noted that “having AEDs on patrol and readily available by deputies saves precious time and can improve the odds of survival. Placing AEDs in the workplace, along with providing proper training for employees on how to use those devices, can mean the difference between life and deah
