Magnolia, April 13 – Magnolia ISD Parent Leadership cohort was honored Monday, April 10 during the regular School Board Meeting. Superintendent Dr. Todd Stephens and the Magnolia ISD School Board honored the 8th leadership cohort with a presentation of plaques in recognition of their commitment to learning more about the fundamental workings of the district.
Dr. Stephens stated, “We appreciate the commitment of these parents as they are already an active part of the Magnolia school community. This is a great opportunity for our emerging parent leaders to connect with others around the district and be engaged with our district leadership.”
The leadership cohort had the opportunity to meet with district administration over the past four months and learn about the operations, financials, curriculum, meet with the school board, and understand what makes Magnolia ISD “dedicated to be the best district in Texas.”
Magnolia ISD Parent Leadership is an initiative which began in 2011. Members are parents of students in the district which were given an opportunity to take part in an interactive, in-depth learning experience. The parents are nominated by campus personnel to be a part of the cohort. The parents were able to go “behind the scenes” of Magnolia ISD, and meet the people who are responsible for programs and services.
