Bill Brenza, Special Reporter to The Golden Hammer
Conroe, January 22 – “It’s Hammer Time,” the popular Facebook Live, YouTube, and Roku.com show found at MCPLive.TV, will host the untrammeled Ashley Burke, the campaign strategist and manager who is an expert on the workings of the Texas Legislature. Burke will focus on what the 87th Texas Legislature has done so far and will provide her detailed analysis of the rules votes in the Texas House and Lieutenant Dan Patrick’s committee appointments in the Texas Senate.
Ashley Burke’s political activism began in the small Oklahoma town where she was born and lived as a young child until the age of 14. A club with which Burke was heavily involved fought to expose the amounts of lead in Tar Creek from left over mining deposits and the neurological damage it was doing to children in the area. As a teenager, Burke moved to South Carolina where she finished high school and attended Clemson University there. Burke is a die-hard fan of the Clemson Tigers and of their Coach Dabo Swinney.
Burke owned a restaurant and catering company in South Carolina before falling in love with the man of her dreams, Walter Burke, and moving to Texas to start a family. She has 4 stepsons and 2 children of her own. She’s a homeschool mom who first started digging her heels into Texas politics in 2015, when a bad bill was filed in the Texas Legislature that would greatly affect her children. The following session Burke worked for Texans for Vaccine Choice and assembled an invaluable group of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to preserve liberty in Texas.
Burke has volunteered on numerous state representative campaigns with a long record of wins and only one loss, Susanna Dokupil who was running against now former state representative Sarah Davis. In 2018 Burke started an organization called We the Parents, which actively engages in the political process to ensure parent’s fundamental rights are preserved.
Most recently, Burke was the Campaign Manager for State Representative Lacey Hull’s successful 2020 Republican Primary Election campaign where Hull defeated two prominent opponents without a runoff to ensure that a right-leaning Republican would fill the open seat of the retiring Duane Bohac.
Burke is the elected Republican Precinct 57 Chair and is member of the Board of Directors of the Freedom and Liberty Conservatives PAC.
