The San Jacinto River Authority expected a giant crowd of people at its September monthly board meeting. They even had Constable Philip Cash and his entire team show up as the police protection.
Instead, only a few people from River Plantation and a couple of others showed up. They had a ton of coffee for the public. Precinct 2 County Commissioner Charlie Riley was there wearing one of his big cowboy hats. Don’t worry; representatives from Halff Associates, Inc., were there too.
It’s time to let the San Jacinto River Authority meet the citizens of Montgomery County. Their procedure for citizen comments is actually quite fun. You’ll get to speak for five (5) minutes and sit in a chair at the rectangle of tables right there with them.
The meeting is Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 7:30 a.m., 1577 Dam Site Road, Conroe. Yes, it’s really at 7:30 A.M. Ante Meridiem. Remember, the SJRA is a bunch of pointy-headed engineers so 7:30 a.m. is probably late in the day for them.
At the September meeting the engineer to real people ratio was about 7 to 1. Hopefully, people will try to bring a little more balance to the proceedings next week.
