Conroe, November 26 – On Friday, November 23, 2018, Deputy J. Smith of the Precinct 2 Constable’s Office of Constable Gene De Forest was assisting the Conroe Police Department in attempting to locate a stolen vehicle. The victim was able to track his vehicle using GPS and advised that it was now stopped near the intersection of FM 1488 and FM 2978.
Upon arriving in the area, Deputy Smith was able to locate the vehicle in theMcDonald’s parking lot in the 6700 block of FM 1488 where he and Montgomery CountySheriff’s Office deputies began to look for the unknown suspect. Once inside therestaurant, Deputy Smith observed a white male who was waiting for an order, suddenly exit to the east and proceed past all vehicles in the parking lot. Deputy Smith pursuedthe male to the east side of the Walgreen’s Drug Store, where the male was detained.
As the male was ordered to the ground, Deputy Smith observed him reach into his pants pocket and throw a key onto the ground. The male was identified as TIMOTHY ADAM DILLEY, W/M, 34 YOA. Deputy Smith was able to use the recovered key to unlock and start the stolen vehicle. Inside the car Deputy Smith was able to find thevictim’s driver’s license and checkbook. Also in DILLEY’s pocket was a large amount of small bills, consistent with what the victim said had been in a money wallet in the car at the time of the theft. The owner of the vehicle was able to respond to the scene and the car was returned to him there.
Charges were accepted by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (State Jail Felony). DILLEY was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on that charge, and an additional Failure to Appear warrant from the Pct. 5 Justice of the Peace office (Class C Misdemeanor). During the booking process, a clear plastic bag containing what tested to be methamphetamine was foundin DILLEY’s wallet. The additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (State Jail Felony) was added.
