Deputies dispatched to “welfare check” discover forcible entry, assault in Grand Estates Apartments

Magnolia, April 26 – On April 26, 2017 at 7:25 pm, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 Patrol were dispatched to a “welfare check” at the Grand Estates Apartments located in the 30000 block of FM 2978, Magnolia, Texas.

Upon arrival, Sheriff’s deputies learned that two black males knocked on the door of a 64 year-old Hispanic female resident. The resident opened the door and engaged the two male suspects in conversation. It was at that time that the males forced their way into the apartment and bound the victim. The male suspects then began ransacking the apartment. Sometime during the incident, the victim’s 34 year-old daughter arrived home and interrupted the robbery. A brief scuffle ensued with the daughter, but both suspects fled the scene on foot.

The suspects are described as slender black males wearing dark colored hoodies. Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crime Unit are on scene investigating.
