Obviously, the Commissioners Court took what Bouche had to say very seriously, because they passed the first “effective tax rate” budget in the history of Montgomery County, meaning they didn’t raise taxes on the citizens.

The Golden Hammer Staff Reports

Montgomery County, December 30 – The Golden Hammer‘s Editorial Board unanimously voted to name conservative Republican activist Jon Bouche as “Person of the Year 2019.” “Bouche has been a great leader of conservatives and Republicans during 2019 and personifies some of the major political trends we’re seeing in Montgomery County right now,” Kelli Cook, Publisher of Montgomery County’s leading daily newspaper announced.

This newspaper named Bouche #9 on the Power Top Ten List of the Ten Most Powerful People in Montgomery County earlier this month. Bouche had not previously appeared on the Power Top Ten List.

Cook explained, “There are three major trends we’re seeing in Montgomery County, and Jon Bouche is at the forefront of all of them. First, grassroots political activists have become the engine of the Montgomery County Republican Party, which has had a sleepy run during the past quarter century until Bouche and other grassroots leaders became involved. Second, Republicans during 2019 have become willing to challenge local democrats. It’s always easy to criticize people who are far away in places such as Washington, D.C., but our local Republican leadership needs to take on local democrats. We saw that during the November 2019 General Election and Bouche consistently leads and empowers other Republicans to do the same. Third, there’s a major new phenomenon in Montgomery County: people are wanting to move to Montgomery County for a reason which didn’t previously exist. Specifically, they want to move here and be a part of this great community, because the Montgomery County Republican Party, under the leadership of Bouche, Vice Chairman Reagan Reed, and others, has made it exciting and fun to be involved in the Republican Party. Candidates running for office in 2020 have reported many discussions they’ve had with newcomers to our community who moved here specifically because of our conservative politics.”

In naming Bouche to the Power Top Ten List on December 4, 2019, this newspaper wrote:

“Jon Bouche has blossomed into a remarkable leader during the past year. Bouche won election as the Republican Voting Precinct 35 Chairman in March, 2018, in his home of Oak Ridge North. In June, 2018, the Montgomery County Republican Party Executive Committee elected Bouche as one of the Steering Committee members, the small group of Republican Precinct Chairs who act as an executive committee of sorts.

“In November, 2018, Bouche won election as the Commissioner Precinct 3 Board representative to the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District Board of Directors. Bouche has been a reliable conservative vote on that Board and has fought for accountability to the citizens, lower government spending, and property rights.

“Mostly, however, he’s a great team builder. He finds people and plugs them into the Republican organization. Much like President Donald Trump, Bouche has the heart of an entertainer and brings his charisma into every room he enters.

“Whenever there are vacancies in offices or Precinct Chairs, Bouche has become one of the primary ‘go to’ individuals to find excellent new talent to bring into the “grassroots” movement in the Republican Party.

“Republican leaders across Texas think of Bouche now if they want to get something done in Montgomery County or involving the vibrant Montgomery County Republican Party which Bouche and grassroots conservatives have built.

“Bouche has been instrumental; in the reforms within the Republican County Executive Committee which have dispersed authority to the Precinct Chairs and away from a dictatorial County Republican Chairman. Bouche has made clear that he intends to continue that sharing of authority should he win the County Chairman position himself.

“Bouche has served as Chairman of the Citizens Budget Committee, a Director of the Children’s Hope PAC (which successfully defeated the May 4 $807 million Conroe ISD school bond), and as Chairman of the Freedom and Liberty Conservatives PAC. Bouche is definitely someone who gets along with people, especially when they recognize his enormous personal talent.

“Jon Bouche can get things done!”

Cook explained, “Jon Bouche is one of the greatest team builders I’ve ever seen. People love working with him and for him.”

Bouche responded, “I have found that great leaders consider the talents and abilities of their team members as an asset to the organization rather than a threat to their authority. I hope to be a great leader myself some day.”

In November, the State Republican Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Texas named Bouche the Senatorial District 4 Volunteer of the Year. The State Republicans explained,

“Jon Paul Bouche is a brilliant messager who is not afraid to say what he thinks. He’s honest and will tell you what’s on his mind. Jon Bouche is a master at winning hearts and minds.

“By getting Republicans involved in non-partisan races, he’s helped to cut the democrats’ Project LIFT off at its knees in Montgomery County. Jon was a major leader in the Victory 2018 campaign where he provided his organizational skills and leadership to obtain a 75-25 general election victory, which was almost 40% of Ted Cruz’s statewide winning margin.

“As a Republican Party Steering Committee member, Jon has found hundreds of strong conservatives as volunteer recruits, numerous Precinct Chairs and Election Judges, and candidates to run for the Montgomery County Republican Party.

“Jon began his political activism when he helped a conservative friend running for the Woodlands Township. He’s volunteered  for successful House and County government candidates.  In 2018, Jon won a contested Precinct Chair race beating a longtime incumbent and then quickly rose to leadership as a Party Steering Committee member as a result of his obvious leadership skills. In 2018, Jon became an elected official when he won election as part of a property rights reform slate to the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District.

“In May, 2019, Jon’s efforts were instrumental in the defeat of an $807 million wasteful school bond. As Chairman of the Citizens Budget Committee, Jon has wielded enormous influence in paring down the Montgomery County Budget.”

In an exclusive interview with this newspaper, Bouche explained why he’s gotten so heavily involved in local politics. “As I watched the democrats surge across Texas and turn county after county ‘blue,’ I felt a real sense of urgency to get involved with our County Republican Party. I knew that I could help get the party organized, modernized, and moving in the right direction, so I jumped in,” he said.

Bouche said further, “Montgomery County is a very special place and year after year, this part of the country is voted as one of the best places to live in Texas.  I attribute this to our Conservative way of thinking and having an involved, politically active citizenry, which continues the push to have small, effective government.  The Republican Party needs to be at the forefront in protecting our way of life here for our families and our posterity.”

Bouche, whose wife Jennine is a special education teacher, talks regularly about his support for educational opportunities for the children of Montgomery County. “The Republican Party message resonates within every community and we just need to be able to effectively communicate our values in the public forum.  One of the primary ways that the Republican Party must step up is in supporting our Teachers and our students.  I have been on the forefront fighting to ensure that we eliminate wasteful spending in the schools and ensuring that our teachers have the resources and support that they need to provide our children with the best education possible,” Bouche added.

Bouche represents the exciting future of Montgomery County. There’s no doubt he is the “Person of the Year 2019.”
