Austin, July 30 – Attorney General Ken Paxton successfully prevented City of Austin Mayor Stephen Adler from mandating that all City employees have the China Virus vaccine. Adler posted on social media is intention to require all City government employees to obtain the vaccination and to strong-arm local businesses to require their employees to do the same.
In response, Paxton immediately contacted Austin City Manager Spencer Cronk, the real authority in a city government with a mayor-manager arrangement. Paxton explained to Cronk that the City had no authority to mandate the vaccination among all City employees.
The Golden Hammer has confirmed this conversation with two sources inside of the Office of Attorney General, who requested anonymity.
Cronk then took corrective action and overrode Mayor Adler’s illegal mandate.
Paxton has made clear that he is “committed to the health and safety of all Texans, as well as safeguarding Texans’ right to individual liberty. An individual’s freedom to make personal decisions cannot be infringed. Currently, under Texas law, Texans have the right to choose whether they will get vaccinated.”
“I will always fight to protect the individual rights of Texans to decide what is best for themselves and their families.” Attorney General Paxton said, “I will continue to oppose the Biden Administration as Democrats demonstrate their willingness to sacrifice freedom for government control.”
