Conroe, January 31 – The Texas Patriots Tea Party PAC issued its endorsement list for candidates in the March 6, 2018, Republican Primary Election. Texas Patriots PAC President Dr. Julie Turner explained, “The philosophy behind our endorsements for public office closely follows the Buckley rule: we support the most conservative candidate with a viable path to victory. We hold our candidates to a high standard when it comes to doing what it takes to win an election, and will not ask our volunteers to work hard on behalf of a candidate who is not working hard themselves. It isn’t enough to be a conservative. Our candidates must also be serious about winning to deserve our support and have a game plan that does not solely rely on endorsements to carry them across the finish line.”

The Texas Patriots PAC has had a major impact on several of the last elections, particularly in Montgomery County, Texas, where the PAC maintains its headquarters. The 2018 elections, especially in the Republican Primary, are very much a “reform” versus “establishment” contest. The PAC’s slate of candidates is very much the “reform” group and is almost identical to the endorsements of The Golden Hammer, Montgomery County’s leading daily newspaper (although there are some differences.)

The PAC conducts vetting interviews of each candidate and requires them also to fill out a detailed candidate questionnaire. They also conduct an independent investigation of each candidate before endorsement or recommendation.
