Conroe, September 26 – Conroe Independent School District Superintendent Don Stockton and CISD Board member John Husbands, who last Tuesday voted against providing any reappraisal relief to taxpayers who are victims of the Tropical Storm Harvey flooding, are seeking the re-appointment of Woodlands lawyer Bruce Tough to the Board of Directors of the Montgomery Central Appraisal District (MCAD).
Tough has consistently voted in favor of the Appraisal District’s aggressive policies to increase property tax appraisals on Montgomery County homes and commercial properties in order to support the massive increase in tax collections and government spending among the numerous entities which rely upon the MCAD. Tough served as Chairman of the Board of the Woodlands Township, but in November, 2015, a political unknown, Laura Fillault, soundly defeated him for re-election at the polls. Tough also ran for the state representative position currently held by Mark Keough and lost to Keough in the 2014 Republican Primary.
Montgomery Precinct 3 County Commissioner James Noack told The Golden Hammer, Montgomery County’s leading daily newspaper, this evening, “If you’ve been voted out of office [like Tough], you should not be appointed to the MCAD.”
This newspaper has confirmed that Tough contacted Stockton late last week and told the superintendent that he would like reappointment to the Appraisal District Board of Directors.
