Conroe, June 1 – Numerous Montgomery County elected officials showed support for City Councilman Duane Ham at his political fundraiser on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at an outdoor restaurant on Lake Conroe. Last Friday, May 26, 2017, local political consultant Marc Davenport threatened Montgomery County Judge Craig Doyal that if Doyal continued to communicate or show support for Ham, Davenport would order his clients to withdraw their support for Doyal in his re-election bid for County Judge in 2018. As a result, Ham has taken an important symbolic stand against political bullying. (Please see “Conroe City Councilman Duane Ham: ‘The Davenports’ Threats Against County Judge Craig Doyal Are An Insult to the Law Enforcement Community and the Citizens,’ (The Davenports, Part 1),” The Golden Hammer, May 31, 2017).
Among the courageous County officials, municipal officials, and candidates who attended Ham’s fundraiser and stood up to political bullying were:
County Judge Craig Doyal
Precinct 1 County Commissioner Mike Meador
Precinct 2 County Commissioner Charlie Riley
Precinct 4 County Commissioner Jim Clark
9th District Judge Phil Grant
435th District Judge Patty Maginnis
County Court at Law Number Two Judge Claudia Laird

Candidate for Precinct 2 County Commission Brian Dawson
Montgomery Chief of Police Jim Napolitano
Conroe Municipal Judge, Dr. Michael Davis
Former Conroe Mayor and Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District Board member Webb Melder.
