Conroe, April 25 – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Ken Culbreath resigned from the Sheriff’s office this morning under a cloud of multiple allegations of wrongdoing, including issues relating to several ongoing investigations with the Texas Rangers and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. The resignation is not unexpected based upon the numerous issues that have arisen in the Sheriff’s office concerning the leadership team and Culbreath in particular.
The Golden Hammer has confirmed that Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson is in the process of interviewing candidates to fill Culbreath’s position.
Yesterday, Sheriff Henderson appointed Andrew Eason as the Jail’s Captain to wide acclaim and positive comments from numerous law enforcement officials.
There are strong rumors that former Precinct Three Constable Tim Holifield, who is currently a Lieutenant in the department, is considered a strong candidate to become the next Chief Deputy.
