BREAKING NEWS: Conroe Police Officer involved in shooting in Conroe


Conroe, May 2 – Conroe Police Department Officers responded to a domestic disturbance yesterday afternoon around 1:35 p.m at 506 Hildred Avenue in Conroe. Officers could hear a disturbance inside the residence.

The Officers entered the residence and saw a 24-year-old female escape the grasp of a male suspect. The lady fled past the officers outside the residence.

The Officers attempted to detain Joseph William Alain, 25, of Bellaire, Texas, who failed to cooperate and fled deeper into the residence. Alain then brandished a firearm as the Officers pursued him. A 13-year veteran of the Conroe Police Department discharged his sidearm and fatally wounded Alain.

The remains of 52-year-old Denise Russell were located inside the residence during a subsequent search. There was also a 5-year-old hiding inside the residence.

The Officer involved in the shooting is on administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation.
