Bouche’s announcement speech for Republican Party Chairman a classic

When Jon Bouche announced on Monday, September 2, 2019, at the Montgomery County Tea Party meeting that Bouche is running for Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman, the crowd gave him a standing ovation.

Publisher’s Note: On Monday, September 2, 2019, Jon Bouche announced he’s running for Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman. The long-awaited announcement from this first-class leader occurred during an outstanding speech he gave to the organization. Bouche’s speech is one of the best ever in this community.

The speech in its entirety follows.

My name is Jon Paul Bouché and I am the Precinct 35 Chairman and a member of the Steering Committee for the Montgomery County Republican Party.  I also serve as the Place 3 Director on the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District Board.

My wife Jeannine and I have lived here since 2004 and raised our three children right here in Montgomery County.

I am the founder and former Chairman of the Lone Star Christian Chamber of Commerce.  I am also the former Chairman of the Freedom and Liberty Conservatives PAC. I currently serve as the Chairman of the Citizens Budget Committee and as Vice Chairman of Love Street Alliance which brings the healing power of music to local hospitals.  I have also served on the vetting committee for the Montgomery County Tea Party.

I am a realtor with Coldwell Banker and I have owned and operated my own insurance agency, Lifeline International LLC since 2005. I am also an entertainer and you can see me on stage with my band Johnny and the Spinsations at various venues all over this region of the state.

Some of you will recall that on July 2, 2018, I stood right here before the Montgomery County Tea Party and spoke about the new party bylaws that had been passed just 6 days prior to that on June 26 or 2018. I called for Party Unity then. I rejected the claims that my vote for the new bylaws was a vote to remove Chairman Wilkerson and I even told the gathering here that night that I had voted for Wilkerson over Terrance Boggs in the election. I can send anyone a link to that speech if they care to see it.

I also told them that at the June 26 meeting after the new bylaws were adopted, we were determined to be inclusive and even nominated many of the people for leadership positions who were staunchly opposed to the bylaws.  We even nominated the lady who called us Nazi’s that night.  It is important to note that every one of those people we nominated either declined the nomination outright or accepted a leadership position but then refused to serve.

You see, we have always been focused on uniting the party and this was the purpose of the new bylaws.  So when you hear that the bylaws divided the party, you know this is not true.  The truth is that the new bylaws were a result of a divided party and some of us recognized that our very future depended on us coming together.

Also, when this whole dust up first started and Chairman Wilkerson started sending out misinformation to the county and trying to nullify the new bylaws and undermine the Steering Committee, a lot of our current and former elected officials had no idea what was really happening with the Montgomery County Republican Party.  All they knew was that a revered figure in Montgomery County, Walter D. Wilkerson, had told them something and they were initially willing to accept whatever he told them at face value.  After I met with a number of them, the word started to spread amongst our elected officials about what had really happened and quite a few of them pledged their support to the new bylaws and the Steering Committee.  Some even told me that though they loved and respected Dr. Wilkerson, they believe that he should have already retired. During those discussions, a few even asked if I would consider running for the Chairmanship.  That was not my plan at the time but now that we have come to this place, it would sure seem that these elected officials will be pressured into making a decision.

Do they do what they know is ethically right or do they cater to a vocal minority in this county who still have only heard what Dr. Wilkerson has told them to believe and they just really want to believe him.  Now, if they do that, they now know that in supporting Wilkerson they are actually fighting against the RPT, the rule of law and all of the grassroots volunteers in Montgomery County.  So yes, I recognize that this election has the potential to be divisive and damage the party so here is what I propose:

Because of the nature of this election, I am not going to ask our elected officials to publicly support me in this race unless they feel led to do so. I would just ask that they stay out of it entirely because I understand that they are caught between doing what they know is right and being pressured by a few voters who have been misled but are still intensely and emotionally invested in this situation.  That’s the very definition of politics folks.  I get it.

I have seen firsthand that for some people, nothing is beyond the pale and they will say all kinds of crazy stuff. So let me set the record straight tonight about a few things.

  1. I am not a drunk or a drug addict. Never have been.
  2. I am not a womanizer and I have been married to the same woman for 31 years.Been with her for 35 years.
  3. I am not a Russian spy, a member of the Klan, MS13 or the Chinese Triad.
  4. I don’t have a meth lab in my kitchen, a chop shop in my garage or a porn production company in my spare bedroom.

I am just a God loving, devoted family man who loves his country and the great state of Texas and I have happily sacrificed much to serve the people here in Montgomery County.   I say what I mean and I keep my word.

If you are a Precinct Chair, I am asking for your signature on the petition to get me on the ballot.  I have this petition here with me tonight.  If you are able to donate to my campaign, we can take care of that tonight or you can go online to and there is a “donate” button there. If you can volunteer to block walk or phone bank for the campaign, please sign up tonight. If I may put a sign in your yard, please let me know that as well and as soon as I can get a sign to you, I will.   I anticipate that this will be a hard fought battle but it is a battle that we must win so I hope that each of you can help out and chip in.

We certainly have much to be thankful for here in Montgomery County and this is because of people like you:  Patriots who have put your time and treasure on the line and sacrificed so much for the benefit of the people of this county.  But we still have much work to do if we are going to protect what remains of our individual liberty.  Make no mistake about it; Texas is ground zero in this epic battle for the heart and soul of America.  We must win this war and it will take all of us working together using our God given abilities while having the individual mindset that the issue of the entire struggle will be decided by us alone.

By 2014, nine of the largest counties in Texas had already fallen to the Democrats.  In 2018, we lost 4 more which means that at last count, the Democrats now control 13 of the 20 largest counties in Texas.  But even in the face of this growing threat to our way of life, the people of Texas seem to remain blinded by a normalcy bias which was born out of the mid 1990’s when much of the entire south turned solid “Red”.  Sadly, even though the times had changed, our county party did not.

And then in 2017 when 9 Democrats filed to run county wide here in Montgomery County, a group of good people drew a line in the sand and finally said, “No more”.  It was time to come together.

It was long overdue but in June of 2018 under the leadership of Reagan Reed, John Wertz and many other great patriots here in Montgomery County, we began the effort to unify, modernize and energize the Montgomery County Republican party.  Hundreds of volunteers soon stepped up and our efforts paid off in the November 2018 election with a resounding victory that announced to the entire state of Texas that Montgomery County had awakened and answered the call to battle.

Yes, we turned back the blue wave but this battle is not over. Not by a longshot.  And in order for us to prevail, we need leaders who are bold, energetic, forward thinking and who understand the nature of the battle that we are fighting and, moreover, understand how to win. We also need leaders who appreciate and understand why it’s important not only to win but to be an ethical and moral party as we win in the right way.

In the book of Mark, Chapter 8 verse 36 it says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

You see, I believe that winning is important but there is nothing more important than winning the right way. Sadly, there are those in this county who will tell you that winning is the only thing that matters and indeed they have demonstrated their commitment to this belief with their unscrupulous electioneering tactics in recent years.  My very public protests against the dirty electioneering and corruption in our county eventually drew the attention of one elected official in particular and this sparked a friendship that has forever impacted my life.

I want to take a moment to remember a dear friend and mentor whom we lost earlier this year because he is a big part of the reason that I am standing before you tonight. JD Lambright and I became friends very easily and very quickly.  We both shared a love for music and when we were not talking about that, we were talking about our county government.  As you might imagine, the topic of ethics was always part of those conversations.  I recall sitting in the Red Brick Tavern having lunch with him one day and at some point during our conversation, he looked straight at me and said, “Jon, we need more people like you in government who are intent on doing the right things, the right way for the right reasons.”

His words were very humbling and I have kept that conversation in my heart to this day.

So with JD’s words guiding me, I want everyone to know that it is my intention to continue the work of bringing this party together and doing it in the right way and for the right reasons.

So tonight, I am here to announce that I will be running for the Chairmanship of the Montgomery County Republican Party in the March 2020 Election.   This was not an office I was seeking but after consulting with my wife, my closest friends, other members of the party as well as some past and present elected officials in this county, I was compelled to at least consider this pursuit. It was after much thought and prayer that I became convinced that for the sake of the party, I had to run and for the sake of our county and the Great State of Texas, WE have to win.

Tonight, I am here asking for your support and your vote but most importantly, I am asking for your prayers.
