The Woodlands, April 5 – The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office has announced that the implosion of 1200 Timberloch Place will occur on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at first light. The implosion itself will last approximately 12 seconds and precautions are in place to limit dust and debris. It is expected that the safety perimeter will be cleared within 2 hours and all roads will be re-opened as soon as possible.
Sadly, there will be no public viewing areas. Private properties surround the site. Furthermore surrounding buildings and trees will limit the visibility. County and Woodlands Township officials have indicated that they will not permit vehicles to park or stop on public roadways to view the implosion.
Starting in the pre-dawn hours that morning, the implosion team will place a security perimeter and barricades around the site. The perimeter will be 650 feet in all directions and will not impact Woodlands Parkway or Interstate Highway 45, although portions of Woodloch Forest Drive and Timberloch Place will be closed to traffic and pedestrians throughout the event.
The Golden Hammer suspects that there will still be viewing areas from which members of the public can enjoy the fun.
