Conroe, July 24 – Sheriff Rand Henderson issued a press release today thanking the brave citizen who followed some Willis Burglary of a Habitation suspects and alerted law enforcement about the events as they occurred.
On July 21, 2017 at about 9:10 am, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 16500 block of Old Danville Road in Willis, Texas in reference to a burglary in progress. A home owner witnessed a large SUV at his residence and as the homeowner pulled into the driveway the vehicle drove through the yard and fence and fled the scene. The home owner was able to follow the vehicle and give law enforcement accurate information and units were able to locate the vehicle on Hwy 75 near Old Danville Road.
Sheriff’s Deputies with the assistance of Willis Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety were able to detain the three occupants. During the investigation, tools, personal items, and firearms that belong to the homeowner and his family were recovered inside the suspect SUV. Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with Burglary of a Habitation.
Sheriff Henderson commended his Deputies as well as the Willis Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety for the capture of these criminals.
